Richard Whitehead MBE Visits Competition Winner
26.11.24At the end of November, Footprints’ Charity Patron Richard Whitehead MBE visited Jesse Gray Primary School in West Bridgford.
He was there to meet Billy, who was the winner of Footprints’ competition to design the blades which Richard ran in at the recent Robin Hood Half Marathon. Billy’s design was chosen as the winner from over 80 entries and Richard loved his colourful and impactful design.
Richard spent time at the school during the morning, joining their assembly and sharing his thoughts on resilience, diversity and making a difference. Richard also shared the video of him winning T42 200m Gold at London 2012 Paralympics, inspiring the next generation to work hard, believe and achieve their potential and ambitions.
Notts TV also joined us for the visit, and we were very proud to feature on their Notts Today programme on the same evening. You can watch here from 13 minutes 25 seconds.
Thank you also to West Bridgford Wire News for featuring Richard’s visit and our competition winner.
